This Sunday at 9pm Eastern on #MONSTERDON, the weekly monster movie watch party! Another foray into the world of Hammer Horror as Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing seek out a murderer who turns their victims to stone. It can only be... THE GORGON (1965)!
Apparently it's basically a vampire film but with a medusa because why not?
It's available on Tubi or you can download it from Archive.org right over here: https://archive.org/details/the-gorgon
See you Sunday!
This week's movie is also up on YouTube right over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=172VQfCDi6Q
@CactuarJoe its also on youtube
@Taweret Ah, I'll add that in a bit
@CactuarJoe @Taweret I have consolidated all of your awesome #Monsterdon posts into the #WatchPartyCalendar
I love this silly movie and wonder if it was put on this week's ballot because: #YearOfTheSnake ?
Happy belated Chinese New Year 1/29/25 = 4723
@SesameSquirrel @CactuarJoe @Taweret
talking about snakes... how does one propose a movie for the poll? Because *Sssssss (1973)* would definitely nail this theme
@nemesis @SesameSquirrel @CactuarJoe @Taweret You could edit your post to add #Monsterdon and also tag @Taweret. But it is kinder to first check if it is available on ~free resources (Internet Archive, YouTube, Hoopla library app, etc.).
@nemesis @SesameSquirrel @CactuarJoe @Taweret and if it is available on them, to include those links, to save Taweret time.
@CactuarJoe Time? day?
Sunday. In Chicago it's at 8pm; adjust according to your province's time zone.
Despite the weak monster, the film convinces with its dense, eerie atmosphere with impressive Hammer-typical backdrops, fog and lighting effects. The fictional German village of “Vandorf” was created with elaborate studio backdrops. (found in #SwitchTVON)
