"We would not have chosen to give permission to use our work like this" — The original Princess Crown fan translators respond to the new patch, saying there was no communication between them and eadmaster. Read their full comments:
@Danthrax eadmaster should have communicated with & gotten permission from both of the original translators. Taking an early build of the script, polishing off a few things & calling it your own is not cool. This type of behavior is what kills so many projects.
At the same time, the translation has been years in the making. Its been on and off & looked like it might never come out.
I don't know why eadmaster didn't just work with the team and make it the official thing...
@Judeau PandaMonium is working on a new story with eadmaster's side. Should be out later today. And to be fair to eadmaster, they haven't claimed the translation as their own — they've been very transparent about using SamIAm and CWX's work.
@Danthrax Oh wow! Nice. Sounds like this is continually evolving, huh?
I'm sure with this being such a desired release, it's been a turbulent 24 hours or so for everyone involved.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out in the end and everyone who worked so hard to make the translation happen is satisfied.
