Oh we are watching a film real for kids about plants.

Ooh a literary adaptation.
Based upon true events.

So Cosmic Rays make little baby Audrey IIs.
Wait are those those flowers that bloom only every decade and stink to high heaven?

Oh a man with his eyes bandaged? I wonder if this is going to have any meaningful effect on the plot.

Smoking in a hospital. Ah. What a time to be alive... A horrible time I got asthma.

Wait. One character smokes in bed and another is against tobacco companies?
Omg are the killer plants going to be some kinda anti weed metaphor?

Oh his thick Scottish accent is leaking in when he shouts.
Irish accent? Some kinda accent.

In honor of this film my movie snack is half of my salad I didn't finish.

Triffids making some goopy noises as they are forcibly evolved by powers outside of our Earth sphere.

This old film is so dark and grainy I am not sure what exactly happened in the first kill. I think some roots hugged a guy to death?

28 days later, this guy wakes up wanting a smoke.

Depressing, but mood doc.
Dunno what I would do if I couldn't draw anymore.

"Do not smoke." Oh no they are all going to die.

Wait these people all made it here and didn't realize everyone else is blind. Or have they been here all nigth this is kinda-- OH SHIT!
That train crash is effective. But also why was it still running hours after everyone went blind in the middle of the night?

Well the blind nation is an effective horror movie. Good man vs man going on.
Wait is the dog blind?

Are the Triffids walking in KY jelly? Why are they so very icky ASMR sounding?

Combining the global blindness and a slow stalking new killer species on the world seems like this thing really should get a remake like yesterday. Still get that zombie movie feel without having zombie burn out.
I suppose zombie effects are cheaper than walking plant props.

Radio direct from japan in London? That doesn't seem likely... Wish I knew more Japanese. But he was probably just saying "Everyone is blind."

A series of horrific skits where everyone dies.
"Please fasten your safety belts."

Oh that comedically nearby. Heh. Wtf movie?

Oh that crash zoom on the creepy plant monster was a great jump scare before jumpscares.
Plant fighting action man! Weed wacking battle!

Doctor lighthouse drunk has some really good surly dialog.

Boarding up the (light)house? This is a zombie movie.
"It's like being nailed in your own coffin." Oh this movie has some really good lines. Very on the nose but good.

Shotguns work on zombies but not Triffids.
Has someone made a Zomboid mod with Triffids yet?

Wait they are alien plants? That arrived before the cosmic light show? That seems extra complicated for dandelions of death.

Well that is alot of hungry vegetable Daleks out in the woods today.
He died from a broken ankle!?

Fire! The untamed element. Oldest of man's mysteries. Giver of warmth. Destroyer of Triffids. Set these plants on fire!

This thing has so many stops and little side plots for a whole Netflix season of episodes.

We're gonna need a bigger can of weed killer.

strangefour

They added a foggy white filter to the outside scenes to simulate all the Triffid vape clouds floating in the air? Weird.

Wait the horrible plants are weak to fire AND water? I haven't played alot of Pokemon, but I don't think it works that way.

And so concludes another Monsterdon broadcast day. Good night all.
