BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical | Show Clips
Soooooo there is a Betty Boop musical on Broadway. I read about it, but will not be linking to Variety, as their privacy policy mentions using screen recordings (
ick).
Apparently it draws alot of inspiration from the Barbie movie, where Betty goes from ToonTown to IRL 2025. The review said it was alright, maybe overdoing it here or there.
For Public Domain Day 2026 I want Mahou Shoujo Betty Boop.
Mae Questel (1908 – 1998) was an American actress best known for providing the voices for Betty Boop and Olive Oyl. She was born to an Orthodox Jewish family that actively discouraged her from a career in show business. Nevertheless at the age of 17 she set out to follkw that carreer - first performing in vaudeville as an impersonator. she did impressions of Fanny Brice, Marlene Dietrich, Mae West, Maurice Chevalier and others. Eventually she was seen by animator Max Fleischer, who was looking for an actress to provide the voice for his Betty Boop character. Many years later she reprised her role as Betty Boop in the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit
She appeared as an actress in several films including A Majority of One, Funny Girl, and Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. She also appeared in. any commercials, most famously as Aunt Bluebell in the Scott Towel ads.

While we still await casting announcements, "Boop! The Betty Boop Musical" has set a venue and opening date. Previews will begin on March 11, 2025 at the Broadhurst Theatre, with an opening night set for April 5.

After a successful run in Chicago last year, "Boop! The Betty Boop Musical" will come to Broadway in April 2025. The show will be directed by Jerry Mitchell. Casting is to be announced, but it's not known if Jasmine Amy Rogers will continue in the title role.

My 5th #tattoo (the 1st one since 2017) is in memory of my Mom, who passed away in June of 2021. It was done on Halloween that year. At the time I had it done, I thought of the Bible as representing my Dad for several reasons and they were married for 65 years when she passed. It was the 1st one done by Q at #FlipsideInk which is in my part of Memphis, rather than in midtown (where there are more shops). #BettyBoop and the #Bible.
