Does anyone have experience starting or running a #Non-Profit? Wondering what it'd take to start one for public #Mastodon , #Peertube, etc. Accept #donations as a non-profit, apply for #grants for non-profits, etc. Maybe monthly sub that gives folks additional features. Like more storage or something. IDK, just brain storming. As the #Fediverse is meant to be #open, what better way than starting an official Non-Profit for #hosting?

Apparently Let's Encrypt is/was at risk of losing a substantial amount of funding from opentech.fund (OTF). Other projects like Tor are/were also hit by these policy changes from the Trump administration. OTF fought back and seems to be OK:
