I took the North/South O-train Line 2 for the first time today!
WOW! I only rode it two stops to South Keys, but I was treated to a very pleasant view of Sawmill Creek!
This felt like I was on a comfy Via Rail train, but with a more open and a clean design. I'm looking forward to taking this train more often!
Though, I was a bit confused about the train exit doors ~ anyone else?

We listen #Montreal radio each morning and have been hearing that they're having probs with their REM trains – similar equipment to #Ottawa's problem-plagued Alstom #OTrain system.
Haven't heard them say what exactly has been failing in their system, but sounds like much frustration w suspended service and badly-managed replacement buses.
Apparently they're much less transparent about what their problems are. Wonder if it's those frivolous elements like wheels and doors like it was for us.

Omg omg the construction fences have been removed!
Combine that with the test trains, this means the train will be done soon? I'm so excited, I love the train 
Can you believe it, the O-Train used to make it all the way from Tunney's Pasture to Blair in less than 24 minutes..?! I had to re-watch the video to make sure there were no long missing parts because the video is so short and I was doubting my memory. The skip at 17:17 is about 2-3 seconds long at the most and is from my phone camera splitting the video file into 2 pieces.
The horrific metal squealing noise at 7:35 and 8:58 apparently is not supposed to happen and was an indicator of excessive wearing on the rails that was causing damage. Currently they go much slower at this section. This was also before they started running shorter trains during so called 'low' periods..

I hope the takeaway from this and #Ottawa's O-Train is that we shouldn't outsource crucial infrastructure to fly-by-night private entities, not that light rail is inherently cursed.
