I've been wanting to do a quick #FollowFriday for a while. These are three accounts I follow and like so much that I am willing to pay to support them. They do really fantastic work and are well worth following, boosting, and supporting if you can!

@solarpunkpresents (#solarpunk #podcast #climateemergency #environment)

Via Molly Templeton on Bluesky: "There is no one answer to the question of how to bring more readers to small press SFF - even the biggest publishers can struggle with "discoverability" - but I wanted to talk about a few things you can do, and why it's always worth it!"

Reactor · Small Press SFF Might Sometimes Be Harder to Find — But It's More Than Worth the Effort - ReactorIt's a classic underdog tale, and who doesn't love rooting for that?

We wanted to have a quiet afternoon and so we went to go to Kapej Coffee on the Brown Line. It is one of our favorite places in #Chicago with some of the best #coffee in the city. In fact, the owner was roasting coffee fresh in a little alcove off the counter.

@dohappybelove made a #painting and @seanbala started #reading “The Lost Cause” by @pluralistic - a wonderful Sunday!

Well, thanks #Netflix for taking over my lunch break:

Seriously, "Nimona" was such a good movie. It's world building is one of the most unique sci-fi / fantasy worlds I've seen (MedievalFuturePunk?). Animation was gorgeous and the story was engaging.

AAAAND Netflix has uploaded the whole film (nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Film) on #YouTube for free!

@kitirving I don't do detailed outlines: once the story has been told, it has been told. But I do a lot of recursive writing. If I realize there needed to be an additional thread of story that started 5 chapters ago, I go back and insert it and weave it in up to the current coalface, then continue with new stuff. Being able to do that efficiently is one of the advantages of writing on a computer instead of a typewriter or a pen.

Putting aside writing, characters, costuming, and all else -- which of these Gene Roddenberry related properties has the better #spaceship?
Options include:

A. Andromeda Ascendant from Andromeda (full review of the pilot episode available on our last #podcast episode)
B. Enterprise 1701-D (#StarTrekTNG)
C. VCF Sh'vhal (#StarTrekLowerDecks)??

Plz feel free to post your favorite #StarTrek (or #Andromeda or other Roddenberry adjacent ships)!
