Taskmaster has a new series next week. I've learnt to trust their casting, but it's looking quite rough this time. I hope they get more out of Fatiha than The Outsiders, a sub-Taskmaster clone based on a campsite, did a few years ago. In that she seemed to want to do nothing for every task, which might have been for comic effect, but really wasn't funny when it was across a whole series

I really enjoy #taskmaster on YouTube, which I had heard of for many years (from @hotdogsladies and others).

Context: I went to Uni in Wales in mid-80s, so I have always (relatively speaking) prided myself on "getting" broad UK references when I see shows from there.

That said, I’m bewildered by so many contemporary references I don't get in the show w/re: to people.

Fine.

Then Greg says “finale” of ”grand finale” with two syllables, not three, and my head explodes.

Every. Time.

Boom.

Finally gotten around to watching #taskmaster (thanks @siracusa @hotdogsladies )

For context, I went to uni in Wales for a year and visit the UK a few times a year.

But the specific use of the word “stationery” was surprising to me (we obviously disagree on the definition), as well as the ease with which they all said “hose pipe” vs. “hose” was a bit confounding to me.

Really enjoying the show, though!
