Ordered a new Stephens Brass Instruments Series I Horn over the phone today: Geyer wrap, screw bell, and lacquered (my choice). Delivery expected in 6-8 months. Picture below. Very exciting! 📯 😁

I'd get to play brand new Horns in the Army regularly, as each band's section inventory got updated every 5-10 years. The only other personal Horn I bought new was a King Fidelio in college (1982?), which got traded-in on my current Yamaha YHR-862 (demo model, not brand new).

Also I wounder if the folks at @GrapheneOS and other #custom #Firmware (#CFW) #developers are aware of the fact that #Australia basically is going to #ban them...

  • Or at least #Telstra in their infinite wisdom of doing things differently...

Seriously, #VoLTE is a #shitshow worse than #ISDN in the #USA!

"The custom of "telling the bees" is a charming and ancient tradition where #beekeepers inform their bees about significant events in their lives, such as deaths, births, marriages, and other major occurrences. This practice is believed to have its roots in #Celtic mythology, where bees were seen as messengers between the human world and the spirit world. The presence of a #bee after a death was thought to signify the #soul leaving the body. The tradition became particularly prominent in the 18th and 19th centuries in Western Europe and the United States.
To tell the bees, the head of the household or the "goodwife" would approach the hives, gently knock to get the #bees' attention, and then softly murmur the news in a solemn tone. This ritual was believed to keep the bees informed and prevent them from leaving the hive or dying. The #custom underscores the deep connection and respect that people #historically had for bees, viewing them as integral members of the household and community.

For those that don't know, I have collected Android mini figurines for 12+ years now.

This one I had custom made for my dad, Pops, about 10 - 11 years ago. He was a Marine and loved anything and everything associated with the Marines.

He kept this on his shelf by his computer desk from the day I gave it to him which was on November 10th one year, which is the Marine Corps birthday.

He cherished this little thing with all of him, as he too was an Android user from day one.

I was luckily enough to get this from my cousin, which is where he was living when he passed away July 9th, 2021.

While I have hundreds of Android mini figurines, this is hands down my most cherished one that I own and forever will be.

I love you and miss you Pops!
