Since #AshWednesday Christians are beginning #Lent until #Easter. #Abstinence in order to practice #mindfulness and experience #freedom. Our #Muslim neighbors have been celebrating their #fasting month, #Ramadan, since last week. #Fasting plays an important role in all religions. Fasting is also important for non-religious people. A good opportunity to talk to each other about our fasting experiences! All the best!

And the Easter thing *INFINITELY* creeps me out, even if Christians were otherwise good upstanding people, which no. Celebrating their god being killed in a blood sacrifice for an imaginary crime of 100 generations past, and this Osiris ripoff "resurrection" thing.

Maybe we aim to treat #Easter as a season of rewarding local businesses or maybe those often unsung heroes that provide us #FOSS or media that we enjoy? (Maybe even the local church?) Fifty days of spending money that way and not on big corporations? (Perhaps using money we’ve put aside during Lent?)
