After yesterday's day at the workshop focused on remote mapping, today it's time for folks to learn how to go out and do some field mapping with @everydoor & ChatMap.

Der Tag "highway=abandoned" soll nicht mehr verwendet werden, sondern statt dessen "abandoned:highway=*" -> https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway=abandoned
Das ganze gilt aber NICHT für railway?
Da ist "railway=abandoned" erlaubt?? -> https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE%3ATag%3Arailway%3Dabandoned
Es darf aber zusätzlich AUCH "abandoned:railway=*" lauten... -> https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:abandoned:railway
#OpenStreetMap ist manchmal schon echt heftig unlogisch -.-

After a workshop on mapping with #OpenStreetMap, we attended the #MarchaFederalUniversitaria in Río Cuarto.

A hundred people have sent their votes in less than a day! Excellent, though let's get to at least 500! Please vote in #OpenStreetMap awards!
I merged four pull requests for openstreetmap-website today - all small behind the scenes stuff, but I'm getting back into the swing of things after a very long summer break.
I've also had my talk proposal for #sotmeu approved, so I'm looking forward to that in November!
Me: Oh look at this, someone marked this obvious "water ski" spot as "ski jump", let's fix this obvious #OpenStreetMap mistake.

The campaign "No Harbour for #Genocide" has just launched, managed by #BDS & a number of #energy & #Palestine researchers. It produces a dynamic "blocklist" of all vessels transporting fuel & #military equipment to #Israel.
Would any #developer out there be able to have a play with #opensource #API like MyShipTracking to track them on #openstreetmap? The basic UI only allows #tracking for 20 ships/1 fleet & can't be shared other than via script embed
One of the new features that will be supported in 21.2 is direct image upload to Panoramax @panoramax instances and WikimediaCommons @wikimediaDE . Naturally adding appropriate tags to #OpenStreetMap elements if necessary (and the all important licence for WikimediaCommons .
@SK53 It is great to see such hard graft to check `ground truth` for #OpenPubMap
(Wasn't that a nickname for #OpenStreetMap back when Steve Coast was a lad?)
Someone has made a serious effort to map all the former pubs in Bishop's Castle on #OpenStreetMap: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/2bOw
Written in The Six Bell's, a surviving pub (although the brewery has gone).

ah c'est cool, #datagouv a maintenant des aperçus en carte #openstreetmap dans les jeux de données.
prochaine étape, permettre des analyses et des filtrages comme le fait #opendatasoft sur son logiciel de partage de données.
Do you know that there's a dedicated website that catalogs apps (1,941 and counting) using #OpenStreetMap data?
Check out: https://osm-apps.org
Micromapped Woodstock, NSW, Australia! It's lovely to map a small town in such detail as they are usually so underrepresented in OSM unless a contributer happens to live there.
I'm nominated for the OSM Awards 2025 in Greatness in Mapping Award, go vote!

Today Titterstone Clee Hill from Clee Hill (the village), returning to Angel Bank to catch a bus at Farden Lane junction.
#OpenStreetMap has paths mapped pretty well, although not always easy to follow on the ground, but there's a complete absence e of bus stops in South Shropshire, and the Royal Oak on Angel Bank has been closed for 14 years.
I've been looking at the Naptan #OpenData for Shropshire and some last update dates are older than OpenStreetMap. So definitely NOT an import candidate.
An #OpenStreetMap contributor wrote an item "Deriving `recycling:*` keys from colour of recycling container."
