@devsimsek
I don't know, man. I've used the same 12 year old indestructible linux toughbook with i3wm for around 8 years without issue as my main machine and everytime I need to use each new version of Mac or Windows I'm searching around trying to figure out how to find files, hook up to a VPN, set up networking, or just do the most basic work. #YMMV

#EngenderedWriting (Feb 18) 93 — Since this is the last set of prompts, what of value did you take away from following the #engenderedWriting challenge game? Do you feel you learned something? Did it change what you write about? @NaraMoore

I am going out on a limb and answer honestly.

My chief take-away is how naive people, who have not faced life-threatening oppression and discrimination, are about how it would affect them if they were the recipients. #YMMV

@jalefkowit "Remember when Microsoft made the best hardware?"

Yes. Many a year I sat typing into console terminals and wobbled my XWindows with exclusively MS keyboards and mice.

But then I like running Ubuntu on old ppc macbooks, #YMMV ( extra points if the input is ms labeled. )

@mhoye I first had kimchi at the age of 24 or so?!? And I thought to myself it's incredible! Korean food soooooo goooood! Flash forward to 10 years ago and Barb makes kimchi and it's delicious! I assume you have seen Netflix's Nation of Kimchi netflix.com/ca/title/81686735 ?!?!? The 3 hosts are not my cup of tea :-) #Ymmv but I loved seeing Kimchi in all its forms in this show. #HighlyRecommended

My other complaint is that podcasts bury the lede or whatever it's called and they waste many minutes talking about who knows what before the "reveal" of the main point. I know why folks do this (because money from YouTube or other $ related reason) but it's frustrating for me. Make the podcasts 10 minutes or less, put the "reveal" in the title and I'll listen more but it's not about me :-) #Ymmv

I live in a world of text & always have. Yes newsletters are text but they're too much wall of text on far too many topics. I'd rather read a book if I want something longer than a text blog post :-) And yes I read at least 50 books a year mostly ebooks mostly science fiction because I find non fiction books are too long and don't get to the point :-) Most could be at least 100 pages shorter. I am ok paradoxically with sf novels 500 pages long or more because world building :-) ?!?!? #Ymmv
