I hate that I’m always having to question whether I hate new things because I’m old or whether they’re objectively bad and it’s almost always the latter, I want to be able to shake my fist at things that are different from the experiences of my youth but in harmless ways.
I want to hate youth slang because it’s new and unfamiliar and not because it started with a Nazi Minecraft YouTuber.
Also I find the way The Youths treat their social media followers like an audience rather than a cohort of friends and peers to be deeply unsettling and probably profoundly toxic and I wish I could believe it’s just me being out of touch and the kids are actually all right.

@trixter we all impersonated our favorite celebrities when we were young. It's not good but it's nothing new.

But Nazi Minecraft streamers are a huge influence on the current generation of unsupervised white boys.
