Checking in for #monsterdon! This is one of my father's favorite movies, but given how you all felt about the last of those we watched (Mysterious Island) i'm kind of worried.
Excellent dials and gauges on this ship.
OH SHIT IS IT MORBIN' TIME?
This guy is like me when people want to come over to my house. Very relatable.
Cook, please do not try to fuck the robot.
Mmm, hand-drawn laser effects.
There was a time years ago when I realized the capitalist forces funding the development of robots would never allow limitations like the Laws of Robotics because the military applications were too profitable and a part of my soul died.
So he was *definitely* responsible for their deaths got it.
I want her to be like, "No, it's not working. Do you have any women on board?"
I appreciate that the captain isn't the one bothering the woman this time but I could do without his shaming.
She shouldn't have to change for them but also she'd look amazing in a flowy jeweled jumpsuit with wide legs and loose sleeves, that sounds comfy and also fabulous.
"A dream." *scoffs*
So what he's saying is they were triangle people.
All of this set design is incredible.
Ah yes the Brain Gauge.
Mmmm, robot piss liquor.
This dark and mysterious force should be thwarted by their tall rectangular doors.
The monster is so cool
The monster, in the end, was his Morbin'.
Uh oh he got out his Coke bottle with a handle
And then they fucked off into THE STARS
Watching that restored on a fancy high-def TV was a wild experience, it looks so so good! Goodnight #monsterdon, and watch out for your own inner primitive!
@trixter I need that first line as a T-shirt!
@trixter Triangle Man hates Person Man
@trixter The movie was about id monsters, as if the behavior of the heroes when they saw a 19yo girl in a short skirt wasn't monstrous enough
@SordidAmok I wish I could believe that was an intentional thematic thing and not just the ambient misogyny of the times.
@trixter Definitely ambiance
