Via Angry Staffer:
Hey so uh… pollsters largely said LePen was going to win in France and she just got blown out.
Polls don’t vote.
MeidasTouch:
Wow. That is very, very different than what the polls and pundits said was a sure thing.

JUST IN: Polls closed in France. Exit polls show surprise:
@GottaLaff people don't answer their phones if the number is not in their contact list. How many times do we have to tell them. I bet the pollsters don't answer their phones to people not on their contact list either. This whole poll thing has turned into a scam.
@timo21 @GottaLaff Polls only count people who have enough free time and trust of strangers to answer a bunch of questions, whether that's phone or online. Therefore, they're unlikely to reach people working long hours, caring for kids or ill loved ones, or who have long commutes or speak little English. Even if they weight the results based on electorate demographics, it's unlikely that the people they do talk to are representative of everyone else they share race or age with.
@timo21 @GottaLaff That said, I DO respond when I can, because I love messing with their demographic assumptions (married with kids, white, middle aged, suburban homeowner with a high household income. I should be a raging Republican, but nope!)
