Die ständig wachsende Sammlung von Sketchbook.Hamburg kann man komplett im Internet sehen. Die digitale Version kann allerdings nur ein unvollständiges Erlebnis bieten. Viele Skizzenbücher sind auch ein haptisches sehr interessant, manche Farben erfasst der Scanner nicht gut. Deshalb sind Ausstellungen weiterhin die schönste Möglichkeit in die Vielfalt der Skizzenbücher einzutauchen.

Ausstellungen sind allerdings mit einem erheblichen Arbeitsaufwand verbunden. Falls die Ausstellung nicht in Hamburg stattfindet, kommen auch noch Kosten für Anfahrt und eventuelle Übernachtungen hinzu.

Sketchbook.Hamburg ist ein privat initiiertes und finanziertes Kunstprojekt. Aktuell versuche ich über ein Crowdfunding bei startnext.com Geld für eine Ausstellung in Essen zu sammeln. Falls ihr das unterstützen: Im Profil gibt es einen Link direkt auf die Startnext Seite.

Die nächste Ausstellung in Hamburg ist übrigens vom 2. bis 8. November 2025 im Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum.

Es gibt gute Neuigkeiten: Im November werden alle Skizzenbücher wieder im Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum ausgestellt! Einen Workshop zum Thema Skizzenbuch wird es auch geben. Nähere Infos dazu poste ich sobald der genaue Termin des Workshops feststeht.

There is good news: In November, all sketchbooks will be exhibited again in the Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum! There will also be a workshop on the subject of sketchbooks. I will post more information as soon as the exact date of the workshop is fixed.

So glad a dear friend moved back from Italy to live an easy cycle distance from me. It sparked memories of our frequent visits to Sacre Monte, which she could see from her kitchen window. There are 12 chapels you pass walking up the hill, depicting the life of Christ. I'm not religious, but it was always a pleasant walk. The magic of simple lines.

While drawing this figure (straight in ink) I didn't really think of where to put my pen. The process was very intuitive, more heart than brain. But looking back at this drawing, I think the lines are exactly where they should be.

Yet, I can never reproduce this drawing. It will always be different. But in that case the lines will probably also be exactly where they should be.

12.IX.2025 : Zwergtaucher

🇫🇷 Alors dans un sens tout à fait littéral, le Zwergtaucher est un oiseau qui en français s'appelle grèbe castagneux. Son nom scientifique est Tachybaptus ruficollis. Mais, si l'on découpe les deux mots en allemand, on a Zwerg = nain et Taucher = plongeur et donc, il était trop facile de détourner le thème du jour! J'ai fait les deux! 😉

🇬🇧 Well, strictly a Zwergtaucher is a bird called Little Grebe in English, his scientific name being Tachybaptus ruficollis. But when we look at the two words of the German name of this bird we have Zwerg = Dwarf and Taucher = Diver. It was then very easy to get something funny with the prompt of the day! I made both! 😉
