I used to be Southwest Airlines’ biggest fan. But boy howdy, this activist investor is dead set on pissing off loyal customers while also leaving the Southwest-curious folks on the sidelines. History very much repeats itself. Billionaire sees airline, thinks they can “fix it.” Extracts short term value then flees and the airline dies.

TWA is quite possibly the best example of this. Though there have been many. One could argue Trump Shuttle… Though that was mostly an airline run by a guy who had no idea what he was doing………
