Monotype in acrylic.
Only the second print I have made using a technique that is new to me and, while there is much work to do to improve my process and technique, I thoroughly enjoyed the experimental nature of it.
I picked up some cardstock from Goodwill yesterday for $2 and have been really pleased with the pulls I'm getting from it.
Curious to see how it holds up to multiple layers and collaging, but this one might be done as is.
Last night, I turned on https://www.rte.ie/radio/lyricfm/vespertine/ , picked a colour palette, a very muted one at that, and just went with it. Will probably collage bits together. But I think it's just too "flat" and calls for some more saturated bits. Thoughts?
Haven't done any printing before so thought I'd have a go at a very basic monoprint with simple pattern on. Wanted to see how it would work out. I'll keep this for scrap paper or collage so it won't go to waste
I'm trying to remember that just because I didn't have the best day today doesn't mean that tomorrow won't be better, and that success is often the result of small repeated actions that may not make sense until further on in the process.
There's no need to be harsh and unkind to myself because I did less than I'd wanted to.
